Biotin-labelled oligonucleotides can be used to link the oligonucleotide to streptavidin-protein conjugates, streptavidin affinity columns, or labelled streptavidin. Attachment of a biotin molecule to the 3’ terminus can also be used to prevent 3’ exonuclease digestion and 3’ extension during amplification reactions

PC Biotin stands for Photocleavable biotin. The spacer between the nucleic acid sequence and the biotin molecule is broken under exposure to a 300 -350 nm wavelength light.

  • - Spin the tube briefly to collect the pellet in the bottom of the tube - Add an appropriate volume of recommended buffer (refer to technical data sheet) - Allow the tube to stand a few minutes - Vortex the tube for 15 seconds
