The Deep Dark Quencher I is a Eurogentec proprietary molecule. Deep Dark Quencher I is a non-fluorescent molecule (so called Dark Quencher) quenching the lower wavelength dyes such as FAM. Thus, for Double-Dye probes, Deep Dark Quencher I is not suitable for quenching fluorescent dyes that emit at a higher wavelength, e.g. Cy® 5.
