The uracil base within a DNA sequence behaves much like a thymine base. However, the enzyme Uracil-N-glycosylase can specifically remove uracil to create baseless sites at the deoxyUridine positions. This property can be used to generate specific strand breaks in a DNA structure.

  • - Spin the tube briefly to collect the pellet in the bottom of the tube - Add an appropriate volume of recommended buffer (refer to technical data sheet) - Allow the tube to stand a few minutes - Vortex the tube for 15 seconds
