Custom peptide synthesis
Glycosylated & Glycated Peptides
Sugar moieties can be incorporated into your custom peptide(s), at single or multiple locations or along with other modifications, such as phosphorylations, etc.
Key roles in cell-signaling
Glycosylation is the most frequent post-translational modifications found in proteins and peptides from eukaryotic cells.
It plays key roles in cell-signaling such as cell adhesion and cell infections, and can affect protein characteristics such as stability and reduction of antigenicity.
N-linked glycosylation is frequent, while O-liked glycosylation is more diversified. They usually occur on the side chain of Ser, Thr and/or Asn, but other amino acids can get glycosylated as well. Frequent sugars are Glucose (Glc), Galactose (Gal), N-acetyl galactosamine (GalNAc), N-acetyl glucosamine (GlcNAc), Fucose (Fuc) and Mannose (Man).
Specifications
- Length : Up to 60 amino acids
- Purity : >95%
- Quantity : 2 mg minimum, delivered as gross weight or net weight.
- Incorporation of more than one glycosylated amino acid : constraints/restrictions regarding the place the modified AA can be incorporated within the sequence may apply; we recommend separating the glycosylated AAs by several residues (~4-5).
Generating glycopeptides & glycated peptides
The table below lists a selection of glycosylated and glycated amino acids which can be incorporated into custom peptides.
Other glycosylation options are available upon request. Such requests need to be evaluated to determine
if there is an appropriate starting material available, or if the customer can provide it.
