His Majesty King Philippe gave us the honor to visit Kaneka Eurogentec

Company

This visit represents a great acknowledgement of our expertise in the fight against COVID-19.

On April 28th, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium visited Kaneka Eurogentec in Seraing, Belgium. He was accompanied by the Minister-President of the Walloon government, Elio Di Rupo. The King learned more about the key role of Eurogentec for the COVID-testing and the development of vaccines and therapies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

In the field of testing, more specifically the molecular diagnostics, Eurogentec is one of the few companies in Europe to develop and produce reagents for the qPCR analyses. As a pioneer in the field of production of DNA material for use in gene therapies, Eurogentec has become an important player for the manufacturing of molecules who are essential for the COVID vaccines.

His Majesty the King exchanged thoughts with the management about future perspectives of the activities in the field of life sciences of this Belgian Kaneka subsidiary, as well as the challenges linked to the recruitment of highly qualified personnel. The importance of continuous innovation has also been addressed.

Consequently, the King has visited the laboratories where the production processes for the DNA and mRNA molecules are developed, as well as the restricted zones for the manufacturing.
